Table
Solid oak dining table
Prototype, November 2006
The idea was to create a perfectly flush and square table only using solid oak. Through its simple geometry and refined details, the table suits many different environments and table settings.
The oak surface can be appreciated on its own, or with a runner or a table cloth.
Applying an engineered sandwich construction, perfectly flush detailing is achieved without compromising the timber’s natural tendencies to shrink and expand. The table’s details and construction were developed in close collaboration with joiner, Matthew Marchbank.
